We would like to congratulate Rachel T on her 2nd place in the diving. This great result sees Rachel now move on to the State championships. Maddy T placed 3rd in Butterfly, Backstroke and in Breaststroke. Congratulations to her on these great results.

Music Performance at Burwood Heights PS

BEN, CHARLES, LYDIA, PINKY, VANESSA, ZAC,  ANSUL, ALEXANDER,  VIVIEN, JUN BAO, JAMES, BEN and EDWARD all performed at Burwood Heights Primary School on Tuesday this week. They played for an hour and kept the primary students highly entertained. We are sure they impressed these students with their competence, entertainment value and professionalism.

Breakfast Club & Homework Club, the Shack and the Library

Again this week Breakfast club, Library, Shack and Homework Club were well attended. i do have some stats on attendance.
Breakfast Club is averaging around 40 participants. The take up rate appears directly related to the number of adult volunteers that give up their time to attend each session. Breakfast Club runs every Tuesday and Thursday morning before school in the Canteen.
Library attendance is up significantly during lunch times. I went in their today and counted 76 students actively engaged in passive activity. Reading, computer use, chess, draughts and homework. The stats for this week each lunchtime are Monday 65 students, Tuesday 43 students, Wednesday 52 students, Thursday 72 students and Friday 76 students. This is a lot of people taking advantage of this wonderful resource.
Homework Club is always bust. This week we had around 30- 40 students each session. We usually have around 4 teachers and 6 volunteers from Monash Uni acting as tutors for our students.
Shack attendance on Friday lunch was in excess of 30 students. On Thursday they celebrated Harmony Day in the Shack. Ben, our College Chaplain monitors this each day and the students play x box, board games table tennis and just "hang out".

Evacuation Drill

On Wednesday during period 3 we evacuated the College as a practice. The students and staff were safely located and accounted for at our assembly point within 10 minutes.

Harmony Day

We celebrated Harmony Day this Thursday with a range of promotions and activities.

Ecolinc

Our Year 11 and 12 Chemistry and Biology students went to Bacchus Marsh to do an Assessment task in the field.

Bake Sale

On Friday at lunch Impact had their first bake sale for the year. A wonderful; array of cakes and biscuits had been prepared and our Impact Leaders worked hard to sell as many as they could. We await with interest to see how much money they raised.

Auditions for College Production

On Friday this week we had some auditions for parts in the College Production. The students seem excited about the new concept Ms Peterson has presented to them, and so are we. We look forward to rehearsals commencing in the not to distant future.

Sports Leaders Referee Primary Basketball Competition

Ben C, Haari L, Callum M, Micth M and Rohan R all refereed at Nunawading Stadium this Friday for our local Primary School Basketball Competition. They were able to call on and demonstrate the leadership skills they are developing through the Sports Leaders Program at the College. Our students did a brilliant job and were rewarded with $50 Rebel Sports vouchers by the Primary Schools.
