A reminder to all parents that Presentation Night for Year 10 to 12 students is on this coming Thursday night (29/11) in the College Theatre

Year 9 Growth- World Challenge

Our travelers are having a great time. they spent their initial days acclimatizing in KL and Vietnam, and are now immersed in their community project that they have been planning all year in their Growth classes. Yesterday they began laying pipes that will bring water to the village they are working in. This village is accessible only by 4wd vehicle and is about an hour drive from the Mekkong River in the jungle.They have 3.5 kilometres of pipeline to lay. The villagers are very excited at the prospect of having running water and strong relationships are developing between our students and the villagers.

Year 10 Growth Celebration- Movember comes to an end

Our Year 10 students enjoyed a day celebrating their work raising funds for Movember. The students had developed some fantastic activities around the school through their work in Growth, as reported in AGW over recent editions. They finished the work with some time spent in the Zorb balls on the soccer oval and a trivia contest.

Year 10 and 11 Exam Reviews

Throughout the week, Year 10 and 11 students have been receiving feedback on their exam performance. We know that students learn mos effectively when provided with accurate and timely feedback. Thanks to the staff who have done a great job in providing this feedback.

Homework Club End Of Year Celebration

Homework Clubs runs every Thursday of the school year, and this week, the staff and students put on an afternoon tea to celebrate the efforts of all involved this year. Particular mention needs to be made of the 10 University students who volunteer their time to act as mentors for our students every week in Homework Club. For all students who do not attend the Club, they should seriously consider it for next year. This is an outstanding initiative to support students in their learning at our College. Thanks to the staff and University students who generously volunteer their time every week to make this available for our students. We really appreciate it.

Xmas Tree Orders

Lunchtime Activities

Thanks again to Shaye in Year 9 for again organizing a band for students to listen to on Friday lunchtime. The band "Move On, Be Strong" performed in our ampitheatre for our students on Friday lunchtime this week.

                                 

 

Forest Hill Pride Magazine

The first edition, due out next week, has been developed by 5 Year 8 STEM students. Alex, Jack, Ethan, Lucas, Cameron and have been working hard to collect and write material that showcases some of the excellent programs and work at our College. Copies will be available form the General Office very soon.

VCE Orientation Program

Lots of planning has been taking place for the VCE Orientation Week beginning next week. There is s heightened focus on commencing Year 11 and 12 studies this year in [preparation for the following year, in order to advantage our students over others across the state.

Victorian School of Languages Academic Achievement Award

We congratulate Year 10 student, Paul  for achieving THE academic excellence award in the study of German through the Victorian School of Languages. This places Paul in very elite company. Well done Paul.

2012 Art and Design Exhibition

 Parents and students (including nearly the whole Year 12 Art class) came to check out the amazing FHC art and design work on Wednesday night. Some of the examples of the wonderful art work on display are shown below. Thanks to the artists who contributed to the collection. Those featured below are Milos, Kim, Jennifer and Kelvin.

Uniform Shop Open

Our Uniform Shop is open at the College each Thursday from 3pm to 4pm. Also for Year 7 parents in 2013, they will also be open for Connections Night (6:30 to 7:00pm) and Orientation Day (8:30 to 9:15 am) at the College. The Uniform shop will open on the following dates at the College.
