Message to 2013 Year 7 Parents about transition

This is the first time our new Year 7 2013 famillies have been given access to our weekly blog. We would like to welcome you and we look forward to you following us from this moment on. At this stage we have not been able to activate the online ordering system for your netbooks. We have been working daily with our supplier, however we have not made the progress we had hoped we would. Please keep checking the website, as it is only a matter of days before you will be able to go online and order them.

We began the week with our Year 11 students visiting the Jewish Holocaust Centre and our Year 10 students enjoying a Shakespeare presentation in the College Theatre. The staff at the Holocuast Centre were highly impressed with our Year 11 students, and why wouldn't they be. The students wear their uniform with pride and work hard in class.

On Tuesday we had the Interschool Athletics Carnival held at Doncaster. 71 students went and 18 students won their way through to the next level of competition. We came fourth overall.

Our year 10 Physical Education excursion program continued. Students went to 10 Pin Bowling and played Gaelic Footy.

Wednesday was strike day and Thursday Parent./ Teacher/ Student Interviews. Many parents and students turned up to work with their teachers and hear how well they are doing and where they can improve.

Following our note last week that Maddy in Year 10 had a very successful weekend of State Age Championships at MSAC. She swum 5 personal Bests and managed to place 7th in the Girl's 15 years 100 Butterfly. We are all very proud of her achievements.

It would be great to see many faces at Bunnings in Vermont South on Sunday 16 September to support our Parents Association, who support us so well. If you would like to help out please contact the front office and we will put you in touch with the parents who are running the BBQ.

Message to 2012 Year 9 Parents about laptops

A letter to all Year 9 students will be coming home soon indicating how their laptops will be replaced. Students will have an option to sell good quality machines to the school. All students in Year 9, 2013, will be provided with a netbook for years 10-12. The only cost for parents of Year 10 students in 2013 will be a $100 bond.

Presentation Night 2012

Please note there are some Term 4 dates now below in our upcoming dates section. Presentation Night this year will be split into 2 events. One of the main reasons is we have not been satisfied with the venue we have been using and have been unable to locate a venue we have been suitably impressed with. We have such a wonderful Theatre, we decided to use it. The main limitation for us is it only holds 440 people. That is why we have split it into 2 nights. Tickets will be available soon, and we are looking forward to 2 wonderful celebrations of our student's success in 2012.
