Week 5 Half a term has passed already!

The week began with Science enrichment, with 10B and 10C participating in activities with the Vetenarian/Animal Studies department of Box Hill Institute .Students were given the opportunity to participate in a laboratory experiment involving the measurement of the concentration of liquid by using a colourimeter. They then measured and compared the concentrations to an unknown solution.

After school Education Committee began the process of considering priorities for 2012 timetabling. Parents Association met in the evening, expressing their thanks for the Information Evening. They felt welcomed through the sessions and were impressed with the work that had gone in to the setting up of displays and the provision information.

On Tuesday Barry Heard, Vietnam veteran and writer, addressed the Year 12 English students - in an informative and emotive afternoon session. During the morning he enjoyed the hospitality of the library.

Wednesday afternoon saw the Working Groups continue their work for the 2012 curriculum. Whilst the Thursday professional learning session considered student dress code and working with interpreters.


On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday course counselling and selections for 2012 began. Wednesday began with Year 10 students picking their Year 11 subjects and Thursday with Year 11 students selecting their Year 12 subject.

The intergenerational experience continued apace, with 9B visiting Strathdon period 4 Thursday and the choir visiting during lunch on Friday.


The week ended, as it began, with the Year 11 Chemistry class continuing the Science enrichment at Box Hill Institute.
