Year 10 Surf Camp
This week our Year 10 students went to the Surfcoast on camp. They camped in Anglesea, under the rainy skies on their first night. The tents seemed to stay mainly dry, however i am reliably informed that not all of the tents were built for the rugged Otway conditions and some weather proofing was required. The surf lesson at Anglesea on the first day was a highlight. Some success was experienced, and many laughs were had. The water was cold, but the spirits high.
On Thursday the students took to the tree tops and the "Otway Fly". This is a ropes course suspended high up in the forest canopy.
They then headed to Lorne and the sea baths and trampolines.
The camp was lots of fun and a great way to round out Year 10, before VCE Orientation next week.

World Challenge
On Tuesday morning, Mr Webb, Bec Jordan and the World Challenge students headed off on their long awaited adventure. Early news is that they have arrived safely in Borneo, and are now preparing for some shorter practice treks before embarking on the longer, intensive ones. All have participated in early organisation of food and accommodation- a great taster of things to come.

NEVR Rookie Band Workshop At Lilydale Heights College
On
Wednesday this week a number of our year 7 Instrumental Music students attended
the North Eastern Victoria Region Rookie Band Workshop held at Lilydale Heights
College. This workshop involved music students from schools across the region
coming together to work on band music with specialist teachers and then forming
a band in excess of one hundred players to rehearse for a recording in the
afternoon. Students worked very hard during the day to produce wonderful
musical results. As well as this they made new friends and had a fantastic fun
day!
Year 10 Art Mural
The Year 10 Art
students have busy working on some creative artwork to add to H
block. Keep your eyes out for the creations.
A special thank you to Mina C and Matthew M for creating the two designs.

Term 4 in Chinese Class
It is approaching the end of Term 4 and we have a very
rewarding and wonderful term in Chinese class.
We learnt names of animals in a fun way by play with tangram, an ancient Chinese jigsaw game.
We
made our own 12 Chinese zodiacs wheel. Now if someone is asking what Chinese
zodiac he is, then students will be very confident to tell the answer as the
year of birth is provided.
We
are now learning Chinese traditional festivals. Students are encouraged to
apply multiple intelligences on the task of finding the facts of those
festivals. It is a fantastic
differentiating lesson, isn’t it?
8B Drama Production
Students from 8B have been
working very hard on their Drama production "The hysterical history of the
Trojan war". They have taken on many different roles required in stage
productions including lighting and sound effects. In the last few weeks they
have enjoyed being able to rehearse in our theatre, ready to perform to
students next Friday at lunch time.
