Week 8 Ends and Beginnings

On Monday the Year 11 students (and some Year 10s) commenced their exams in H block. These continued until Thursday, ending their Year 11 Journey. The Leadership Team has been reflecting on 2011 goals and achievement of objectives in order to consider the future directions and goals for 2012. They will be holding further planning workshops before the end of this year to refine our focus areas to be in readiness for the beginning of the year.

Tuesday saw the Year 10 students complete their last day of timetabled classes.

After school on Wednesday the working groups continued their endeavours with their curriculum work for 2012. These groups have been very passionate in their work and as a result we have much to look forward to in 2012 as the fruits of the work will really be felt as it either continues or begins with new programs.

During Thursday some of our current Year 9 program support students helped in an orientation day for some of our new Year 7 program support students. The professional learning session continued the work with EduSTAR, supporting the expanded laptop program in 2012.

Use of technology was also evident with two of our Deaf Facility students participating in a video link up with two students in their primary school. They all sat in front of the video screens and communicated with each other visually. Many questions were asked by the Primary students about life at Forest Hill and our students were able to answer these competently. All had a great time using the technology.

Friday saw the Year 12s for 2012 undertake their Orientation Day.

The Saturday working bee will see more work carried out on the new staff space.
