Another Great Week- Week 10

Welcome to our week 10 Blog.

What a great week.

At this stage, despite having over 300 pages visits since we began our Blog, we do not have any posts from our readers. In terms of developing our skills, it would be great to see some posts this week.Even if they are best wishes for the holidays or similar messages. This would facilitate a move towards a collaborative, differentiated method of delivering Professional Learning, communicating with each other and the use of web 2.0 tools in the classrooms. This would be a good step for us to take.

Work Experience was a great success. Thanks to Thea for making this all happen and to all staff who made visits to our students throughout the week.

The mural began on Monday and grew each day. Many students participated in what will be a long lasting and powerful tribute to both Student Leadership and the Tribes programs at the College. Both programs have developed significantly in recent years. Thanks to all staff and students who contributed to the mural, and of course to Tony Sowersby, our "artist in residence" for his contribution.

We commenced Tuesday with an early morning Professional Learning session facillitated by Schy. Thanks Schy for all your hard work and preparation.
It is wonderful to see our staff so immersed in real elearning.

On Tuesday night we had our music performance. The audience was bigger than i have seen before for this event and the quality of the music and media on show was very impressive. Thanks to all staff who worked hard to make this such a successful event.

The Strength and Empower Girls excursions to celebrate the end of these programs were run this week

The Year 8 Sport Round Robin was held on Wednesday.

9A continued the Intergenerational Project on Thursday.

The Staff Meeting on Wednesday after school focussed on Emergency Management procedures and our developing e communication policy. Thanks to the contributions stff have made to this date with feedback on the e communication policy draft. This policy is designed to support effective communication in an ever changing age of electronic media. It is important we all have real ownership over the document.

The Year 7 Sport Round Robin was held today.

We began Thursday with a full College Assembly in the Theatre. The focus of the Assembly was the College value, responsibility. We recognised the students who had participated so well in the EMR Music Concert and had a presentation from our Impact Presidents and a team of students on responsibility.

10 students attended the Plain English Speaking State Final at Treasury Place on Thursday.

The Year Level Assemblies that followed were well planned and delivered important messages. The Year 11 and 12 students had a guest speaker, a former member of the Australian Winter Olympic Team and Worl number 9 Aerial Skiier. She spoke about prusuing your dreams. A timely message for our Year 11 and 12 students.

The Year 9 students had a presentation on the Intergenerational Project from 3 students and one from Malcolm as well.

The Year 7 and 8 students were in H Block and their presentation was a continuation of the theme responsibility.
From your authors, thanks for the work you have done this term. It is appreciated by all members of our community. Have a safe and restful break, and we look forward to the start of term 3.
