Welcome to week 8.
Last weekend we had 74 page visits to the blog, including 1 from Germany. The twitter following increased by 18% this week. This included a number of parents and staff.
VCE Exams were run this week. Our Biology, Physics, Accounting, Psychology and Chemistry students all went through the rigour of the June exams. All students doing a VCE unit sat the GAT, and as we know, they were well prepared for this. Thanks to the staff who have worked tirelessly with our VCE students to prepare them for these experiences.
On Wednesday and Thursday, David began his Principal Internship Program with some Professional Learning around emotional intelligence. Thanks to the staff who helped him complete a 360 degree evaluation.
On Thursday Jenny and Meagan participated in the next phase of Growth Coaching for Principals. Vernon was at the helm for half the day and Sue and Thea the other half, with our recently developed guidelines for running the College on days when the principal Team are all out of the College. These are established to assist decision making and managing of any potential emergency situation.
This Thursday, we had the Intermediate Round Robin, a Yr 9/10 Nanotechnology Pd 4 9A and we continued the work on the Intergenerational project. It was also the last day of Year 10 classes of Semester 1.
Our Intermediate Girls Netball team are to be congratulated on becoming the Division Champions. Well done girls.
Making learning fun and engaging is a key element of good teaching. This video clip is a reminder that injecting fun into a task can bring about desired outcomes.
