Welcome Back To Term 3 - Week 1 Setting Directions

Term 3 has begun as term 2 ended! A hive of productive energy and activity.

Over the holidays Malcolm, Nicky and a team of enthusiastic staff painted S Block, with carpeting to occur shortly.

The Screamfest extravaganza is in full rehearsal, readying for the three nights of performance next week. Linda organized rehearsals during the holidays and they continue at apace.

On Wednesday the next stage of the reporting process was successfully implemented. Students read their own reports - reflecting upon the comments of their teachers and set goals for future self-improvement. The Year Level Leaders and Nerilee welcomed back the different cohorts and set the tone for the session. The home group teachers did a fantastic job, when working with their groups, to carry out the reflection. The results were a credit to all staff and students involved.

The Wednesday afternoon staff meeting set the direction for the year, enabling the College to acheive our PURPOSE. Meagan outlined the working parties that will run for the second half of the year, supporting our new curriculum for 2012 and reaffirming the work carried out by the previous working parties. Chris outlined the plan for professional learning designed to acheive our PURPOSE.

9B have begun their involvement in the Intergenerational Project, following the successful participation of 9A. Like the previous term this will be held throughout the term on Thursday afternoon.

Schy continued her Web 2.0 sessions, running a successful Professional Learning session on Thursday evening.

Friday was the day that Rhondda Hill retired. After a long and highly successful career with the DEECD and at Forest Hill College, she is moving on to new adventures. We would like to acknowledge her fine service to education and wish her well for the future, whatever it holds. Thank you Rhondda.
