We began the week with an early morning Professional Learning session on our exciting new curriculum structure. We even managed to score a tweet from a staff member who was suitably impressed with the possibilities the new structure will offer our staff and students.
This was followed at the end of the day with our most recent sitting of the Education Committee. The focus was on enhancing student programs and opportunities at the College. It was a vibrant meeting, and the preparation that many of the representatives had done prior to the meeting was outstanding. This facilltated informed and open discussions around meeting student needs.
During Tuesday lunchtime our latest OH&S meeting was held. A range of issues were worked through and we are pleased to announce that a number of solutions to protect our workforce were discussed.
On Tuesday afternoon we were lucky to be provided with some great Professional Learning on e5 and digital tools.
Finance Committee sent home letters acknowledging the 30 famillies who have made voluntary contributions to our Building Fund. The rest of the community received personal invitations to make contributions.
Public Relations Committee have been busy working on our parent email distribution list. We are confident that most famillies are now represented on the DL. The list has grown from 167 addresses to 508. This opens up a significantly enhanced range of opportunities for communicating effectively and environmentally responsibly, with our parent community.
It was 10B's turn to visit the Magistrates Court and Parliament on Tuesday.
The final Primary School transition visit was completed on Wednesday and the team that made it all happen, headed up ofcourse by Jill, did a magnificent job. Thanks and well done.
The English staff produced a rubric for the correction of the practice GAT. The feedback for the students will be extremely beneficial. It was timely, accurate and effective feedback.
The Year 8 IT class started a new topic today following the final student presentation. The collaboration amongst both the staff and students was clear to see. The planning that the team had put into it and the delivery to the students had them engaged and eager to start their new topic. The students had a clear understanding of what they were going to be assessed on.
Cosentino paid us a visit and wowed our years 7-9 students with his incredible talent on Thursday. This day also saw the continuation of the Intergenerational Project with 9A.
On Friday the year 7 students took part in their Winter Round Robin.
Our Leadership team all participated in their performance conversations this week. This was a check in mechanism for the alignment of their goals with PURPOSE. We would like to thank them for their preparation and input into these conversations. The three of us got a lot out of them.
The removalists began and completed their task of clearing H Block. Thanks to all staff who collaborated to empty the space.
A massive thanks to Nicky for an outstanding job of ensuring all necessary tasks were completed.
The new learning spaces were set up with the classroom furniture and the students moved across and had their first classes in the space. They had been well prepared for this , as all groups had toured the space and the Year 7 Home Group Leaders had met with Meagan over lunch to discuss protocols and expectations for the use of the space.

We said farewell to our old staff lounge on Thursday with the Biggest Morning Tea. It was a wonderful event that was well attended with lots great food and company and of course the all important fund raisning for the Cancer Council. We managed to raise $276 towards our goal of $300. See Bel or follow the link below to make a donation.

The College Captains again met with the Principal Team to continue their discussions on what makes effective teaching and how they know when it is happening.
CCG met on Thursday afternoon and progressed through a range of workforce planning issues. Thanks to our staff and AEU reps for representing their respective memberships as we collaborated towards positive outcomes for the College.
